removing hardrive partitions

I have a computer with an 8 gig hard drive and no windows installed. The drive is partitioned into 4 drives and windows 98 will not install. How can i get rid of the partitions.

I take it you have a Dell? They have a weird legacy habit of splitting everything into 2Gb partitions (such as the rather comical split of a 36Gb into 18 2Gb paritions that I saw recently).. Repartitioning can be a real pain, but the long and short of it is to use a bootdisk with FDisk to delete all existing partitions and then whack on a new one that fills the disk - remember to use FAT32 rather than FAT16
