A downloaded complete CD, when played with Media Player or Real1 does not show separate tracks. The entire album shows as track 1. Is there any way to split the file so that each track can be saved as a separate file? Cheers
Well, that sucked. The link works, and text after that was
"CNet downloads, but I haven't tried any of these so couldn't guarantee them to work. But really, you should buy the CD."
Here's a cleaner link.
if the album you dl'ed is 1 long travk, the vchances are is that its an 'albumwrap' file - individual songs all stuck together to make 1 big file.
there are 2 ways to sort this :-
1 dl albumwrap - a simple search on google will find it.i think it is free to extract songs.
2 again search on google for an mpeg/mp3 splitter or similar program but this is far more painstaking
why people make albums as 1 file i'll never know.havent they heard of of winzip ?!
If the CD has copy protection on it (which even Sony are now abandoning as it's practically useless) then a prog called freeRip mp3 sidesteps it altogether.
In Windows Explorer, does it show as just one track? If so, you'll need to split it yourself as advised above.
