I think your question is a little too broad, there are many reasons why people would want a clone and some are more acceptable than others.
Imagine a case where a couple have a very badly ill child but they could save it's life if they had another baby, a clone of the first, and the doctors did a bone marrow transplant from the clone to the first child resulting in two healthy loved children - twins a few years apart!
I'm not saying that's necessarily acceptable or ethical or even that the Science is yet anywhere near good enough to do it but it's a long way removed from some rich businessman wanting a clone for some perterved ego trip.
Ethical dilemas are not to to do with technology but the uses we put technology to.
