Does anyone have solution to getting the HP PHotosmart C4280 to work with Windows 2000 Professional SP4?
I purchased this HP printer, which claims that it will work with Win2000 SP3 or higher. The printer itself seems to be OK. However, I cannot get Windows to recognize the printer via the USB connection. It comes up as an unknown "USB Composite Device".
I had this printer installed on a friend's computer running Windows XP, and the printer was recognized and communicates fine.
Wondering if anyone else encountered this problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the tips. I did try everything you recommended to no avail. As well, I am plugging directly into the USB port on the computer and not on a hub.
This USB port works fine for accessing my external hard drive and downloading from my digital camera so the port is fine.
Any other thoughts?
