do i need to change my surname by deed poll? im seperated and going through divorce i want to use one of my christian names as my future surname which is on my birth cer. thankyou

You can change your surname simply by using a new one - common useage.

However, it can be difficult getting banks, passports, driving licence and so on to accept the new name without a statutory declaration.

Even if you want to revert to your maiden name you would have to wait for your divorce to finalise and then use your decree absolute as evidence of your change of name.
