A storage heater is a big block of bricks insulated and with electric elements to heat it up on cheap overnight electricity. then it lets the heat out during the day through vents. The input is basically the temperature that the bricks are regulated at, the output is the amount of air let through the vents. Turn the output off or down at night, if you are not in the room and also if you go out. If the weather is going to be cold put the input up. Remember you put the energy in at night to get it out during the day, if you do not put enough in or let it out early the radiator will cool and the room will be cold.
