A braking squeak.
4 Answers
Our five year old Seat Leon 1.6 was serviced last week and immediately passed its MOT.( Bought new..only used 13,000 miles.)
However, there is a slight squeak in one of the brakes when gently slowing to a halt in traffic tail backs.
The car has allround disc brakes and we mentioned the fact to the Seat Dealership, prior to service.
The question is....Need we worry or just ignore it.?

only an average of 2600 miles per year - 50 miles a week
as you say just ignore it.?
it may help having them cleaned up to get rid of the brakedust & to ensure the pads are still thick enough etc
there is probably a wear ridge on the outside edge of the discs (you might see this if you can look through the wheels)
this MAY cause the squeak,
but if the garage isn't concerned or advised you of any pad wear -then turn the radio up!

Thanks all for your replies.
Raining today in S.Wales and didn't hear a single squeak from the brakes during our weekly trip of 12 miles to Sainsburys and back. No reason to turn up the radio; which we only use on long journeys.( occasionally we go as far as Shropshire!!.)
We are therefore putting on record (Disc of course) that matters are no longer problematic.
Thanks again for your advice.....Viv & Ron.
