Need to tone my stomach...but how?
10 Answers
Alright, growing up in the society that we all live in, I know that my personal image has affected me most. When I was younger I used to have a fast metabolism, that has seemed to slow down during the years. Being used to eating anything with no affect, has now affected me. I need to tone my stomach, and the extra "pudge" around my waist, and hips. But my question is how?

I personally can't stand the sport but I have seen friends and family simply start taking evening walks around the neighborhood and drop several pant sizes. If the gas station or pizza shop are relatively near then ditch the car, or clear some time to stroll once a day and clear your mind a bit. I'm not sure how your posture is but that also can affect (to a degree) which muscles you are using and therefore where the fat deposits/burns off. If you hate nature as much as my husband does - meaning you consider fresh air "nature" - then stick with the sit-ups. :)
cut out the fat from your diet (all of it), cut down on bread, eat lots of fruit, use something like frylight instead of oil for cooking.
Do crunches instead of situps, lie on your back, raise up to about 45 degrees, hold and relax, do as many as you can. Sitting right up provides no extra benefit.
Do not put your hands behind your head or back of neck, keep them level with, but not touching your ears.
there is a horrendous amount of wrong information here mainly propagated through women's magazines and other such twaddle.
1. You cannot spot reduce fat, you must reduce allover bodyfat. Unfortunately in men and women the last place we shift it from is where our genetic dispositions keep it i.e. for women the waist and hips.
2. situps will be useless if done for 50 reps. once you are past about 15 its merely a form of cardio and endurance conditioning.
3.Dietary composition is secondary to total calorific intake. Eat less, and smaller portions more often to keep your metabolism high.
4.Go to the gym if you can. Building muscle not only keeps your metabolism going faster it also uses a lot more enery/calories than cardio. If you want to see your abs use heavier weights.
5.Exercising at a slow pace is more effective than a fast pace, but High intensity interval training is most effective in terms of NPOC and EPOC.
6.Dedication is critical. ANyone can achieve any look they want with the correct application.
7.Good luck
