Do you realize that all this hooplah between Buch/Cheney & Kerry is about the Vietnam WAR!?!?! I mean- I was never in the war, and my parents were also too young to have been in the war- so even though yes- it's war- won't it be great when this generation of guys retire, and we can DROP the issue about who was AND WHO WASN'T in the freaking Vietnam War!!!!!!

You've got that right norfolk boy, they wouldn't like paying our taxes
People go to war because they think their country is doing the right thing. Kerry and Bush went to war (or at least Bush thought about it) because of this, the fact the Vietnam war was a needless waste of several million lives that achieved nothing is the real problem and has been for 30 years and probably will be for another 20.
It is sad that the president will be chosen on what he did or didn't do 30 years ago instead of what they can do but it's the american way and you are stuck with it. Personally I'd vote for Donald Duck over either of them
NO, It WILL NOT be a great thing when "this generation of guys retire, and we can DROP the issue about who was AND WASN'T in the freakin Vietnam War!!!!!!".
You obviously, because of your age, never lost anyone to war yet and I sincerely hope you never do. I lost a brother in Vietnam October 31, 1968 who dropped out of school to go fight for his country and his beliefs..... AND for you and me. I recently attended a reunion with some of the men who did make it home from Vietnam who served with my brother while in country 36 years ago. They are haunted still by the nightmare they lived and the rejection they still receive from some. But through it all they unselfishly relive that nighmare over and over for the purpose of KEEPING THE ONES WHO DIDN'T COME HOME REMEMBERED AND THAT ALL LOST WAS NOT IN VAIN. I for one will never let them be forgetten for what they did for you and me. So NO, Let us not ever forget the Vietnam war and the brave ones who served in it where "ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL" Regarless of whether the Vietnam War was right or wrong, we lost too many lives. All that served or is serving in any war deserves Honor and Respect. I hope you reflect on this before saying you want the past forgotten. It's not that easy for some.
