Does anyone know of or remember a group called "The Movies?"

Whilst I was at college in 1983 a friend of mine gave me a tape entitled "Stage Door C" by the aforementioned group. It really was a great album but I have never been able to find it anywhere. I have tried looking for the group on the net but cannot find even a trace that they ever existed!!

Can anyone help? Did they exist or have I got their name slightly wrong somewhere?

Hi, I remember a group called The Movies from about 1976 onwards. I don't know how long they lasted. They were Joan Armatrading's backing band for a while when she first started then did their own thing. Made 3 or albums, best was called "Bullets through the barrier". They were quite a funky band with good lyrics. Certainly appeared on the Old Grey Whistle Test. I dodn't know if any material is around on CD. I have got 2 vinyl albums.

I hope its the same Movies!
