I recently posted a Q about what my B/F could wear to a 60s fancy dress. I have the outfit sorted out in my head but am having trouble finding some FLARED cords - 60s flared. I have tried Ebay but no luck - charitie shops are not forthcoming either. Any suggestions????
Ok greedyfly, are you handy with a sewing machine? Buy a cheap/charity shop pair of cords, drop waist if poss. Undo the side seams of the legs from the knees downwards & sew in a triangular insert to make the bottoms flared. The more contrasting the better - different fabric, flowered, paisley - as hideous as you like!!
Hope you understand what I mean - ask someone who was 'there'. Have a good time!
Have you tried your local Operatic/Drama Society or any nearby colleges that have Drama on the curriculum?
Don't know what else to suggest as you seem to have exhausted other avenues.
Depending on where you live, Pop Boutique in Manchester/London/Liverpool do cord flares or you can buy them online for 27 (free postage) at http://www.pop-boutique.com
