Get out now before someone gets seriously hurt. Think of yor kids - are they boys or girls? Either way you're teaching them some very wrong relationship values - big hugs to you, hope it works out. x

Go to CAB and find out what you can do to get this poor excuse for a man out of your life.
If you continue to stay with him your children will grow up thinking that his behaviour is acceptable.
And thus the pattern will begin again.
Maybe if he sorts himself out you stand a chance but he will not do this (if he ever does) until he hits rock bottom.
If I were you I'd give him a helping shove to rock bottom. If not for your sake, then do it for your kids.

wont let me go out with my friends for a night out,
I'm sorry but that would be enough for me! I hate hearing adults say their partner "wont let them" do something, is he your dad for God sake?? You are a grown woman, get him to hell and get a life for yourself and your kids. Good luck hon, this creep doesnt even respect you, and he says he loves you?
