To be honest if you both knew what you were doing then morally you should really deal with what you both did I don't think that you should morally get yourself out of a pickle and leave someone else deal with it!

Sorry, don't want to be too harsh! But leagally, not a clue!

and how will anyone know that you didnt really sign it and arent just using it as a way to avoid paying???
Depends on if the police/solicitors get involved.

You will say that you never signed it, your friend will say you did etc etc.

I suspose that they could get you to write your signature and compare it with the fake one and previous things you have signed.

Its an extremely stupid thing to have done i'm afraid.

i would'nt like to call the outcome
My ex knowingly signed a letter agreeing to sell me his house he is now saying that he didnt sign it and that I did. As this matter is now due for a court hearing and he has made no attempt to prove the signature. I am getting it analysed by an expert to prove that he is lying.

this 'friend' didnt know what my signature looks like, so they have just made it up. so comparing it against my signatures on my passport, debit cards, driving license if it doesnt match (which hopefully it wont unless they were really lucky) then whats the outcome? it is not my signature and therefore they have commited fraud right? but where do i stand, have i also committed fraud?

i no the moral implications and i am prepared to accept them but when i am getting screwed over by sumone who can afford to pay the rent but just wont cause they dont wanna live there then they r doing the unmoral thing.
If you want to go that route, you will have to explain you did not sign the form, and get the person into big trouble.
Its the only way to get them off your back for the money.
Why did you agree to the situation if you weren't going to fulfil your duties as guarantor?
