As an ex-smoker I'm now guilty of depriving the govt of tax revenue, what would you increase the tax on in order to make up for the increasing shortfall due to the smoking ban - how about petrol?

I'd be tempted to reduce the length of time perfectly healthy people can claim benefits for and for non-UK citizens to be unable to claim for the first 12 months of their stay here. I'd also put tax up on ciggies. And that's from a smoker.
