I have told some whoppers in my time but mostly when I was a kid and trying to hide something. Or when I was a teenager and used my mums bank card or used to lie about staying at a mates and spend all night outside! But... I put that down to being a teen and having over-protective parents :o)

I have told a big lie to a someone not so long ago and it made me feel really bad and I wanted to confess and before I had a chance, they found out the truth anyway and I explained all. We are fine now though. :o)

I lied to my parents for 2 years because they thought I was at school doing A Levels when I bunked off the entire time. To this day ,15 years later they have never found out nor would I tell them.

In the end I managed to get a job before they found out so never had to take the exams but it meant a hell of a lot of sneaking around etc.

I did it because they always put me under a lot of pressure at school and it wasn't what I really wanted to do. It has all turned out fine in my opinion, the job was low paid and crap but I think that taught me much more about life than doing A Levels or the sort of job I might have got had I carried on. I now have a very successfull career and earn a very good salary so I don't think it was a bad thing.

They will never find out (I think they suspected something was up) and I think my father would be dissapointed in me but it's long in the past and just part of my route through life. Where I am today is directly related to that period in my life and I think it's all the better for it.

Dear Mr & Mrs WoWo

Please be advised that your son, WoWo...

wo wo - god that must have been hard! How on earth did you keep that a secret all that time?? Do you think they know deep down?

Rubyrose - now im curious! Did you feel really bad when they found out?
Both my parents worked, however my father used to work shift work, so it meant having to know what he was doing all the time. I'd often have to leave the house for a few hours while they got ready for work and then come back in after they had left, there was the odd time I had to hide under the bed.

Of course being A levels you were not at school all the time so I could get away with saying I had a free period if I got caught out.

I honestly don't think they knew but they certainly asked a lot of questions especially about how little home work I had etc. I always used to say that I had done it in the library during the day. Given the resistence to me leaving and getting a job I'm sure they never knew.

The one negative thing it has given me is a fear of phones, I used to have to listen to the phone ringing all day as I could never pick it up for fear of being caught out. To this day I hate using a telephone and hate hearing them ring.
Rubyrose you cant mention that much and not tell us the whole lie. Im not a big fan of lying personally, i cant keep up with it. Maybe if I was a little brighter I would get away with it....
