How do i set up my Netgear wireless router WG602 v3
Hi,
I have just bought a wireless router off Ebay, it came with no instructions :(
I have been on the Netgear site and downloaded the pdf files of installation, but i just don't understand it!
It is telling me to acquire a static ip address or something, why do i have to do this, and how?
It says i should just plug it in and my wireless computer will recognize it, it doesn't, easy plug and play i don't think so!
Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks for the reply, although that is how to secure the network, i haven't managed to set it up yet.
At the moment i am connected to the internet through Virginmedia, my router has the cable from outside going into it, then a ethernet to my computer, also on the router is a usb connection? have i even got the right wireless router?
All that is on the back of the wireless router is the adaptor plug and one ethernet connection?
Please help me, i am going insane!

I have been searching to see if it is suitable, and I can't find that simple bit of information. I feel quite defeated. :(
I am not recommending you buy from PcWorld (it's up to you!) but they do give the relevant information for their routers - you want one that states CABLE, not ADSL. Have a look and see if you can find one you like cheaper elsewhere:

I have the Linksys WRT 54 G which has performed well for over 2 years with my Cable broadband. I am happy with it.
