why is it ticking

Can any one tell me why a Zanussi Electrolux Essential1000 Aquacycle wash machine keeps tickin even though its turned of at the switch and has finished all its cycles...... thanks.

It could be the metal coolng and contracting if you have used a hot wash. Are you sure the cycle has completed? If the door does not open while the machine is ticking, it could be a timer that is designed to prevent premature opening of the door. Possibly, a leaking valve and the ticking is water dripping in.
Can you give some more detail? How long does the ticking continue? Is it loud? Can you identify, roughly, where the ticking is from?
