I am sure someone told me that the car bounces up and down easily when you press on it if the suspension has gone - also wouldnt the car be lower to the floor?
You are referring to two different things - the car's suspension is under the car and keeps the car off the tyres and stops you feeling every jolt as you travel.

The car boot is supported by its own nydraulic system. or torsion springs. If they are broke the car boot won't stay open.
the car would not drive,if the suspension and springs had gone, which is very unlikely, you must be talking about the shock absorbers, take it to kwik fit, they will tell you if they need replacing.as for the boot, ethel is right, thay have their own arms which can go.and as she says the boot will not stay open, which one do you mean.
