What can i do!!!!

I've recently lost my phone and the phone bill has just come back at �624. On the bill it states many calls to poland. Some as much as �20 a call. I've never made any calls to poland before and my phone bill has never been anywhere near as much as this before, so obviously somebody else has found it and decided to abuse it. I've been told that i have to pay the bill because i didnt ring up and cancel straight away, or within 24 hrs.................basically is there any way/loopole i can avoid paying this amount of money for calls i did not make. Any info would be greatly appreciated.THANX!!!

Did you report it to the police when you realised it was lost / stolen?

If so, do you have thecrime/lost property number?

How soon after did you report the phone lost or stolen to the phone company?

On the face of it - you have to pay.

I think you should have reported it lost or stolen to the police immediately and received a crime number so that you could report it to your insurance company. I think that as you didn't do this it's unfortunate but you will have to pay the bill. If you get another mobile phone I think there is a registration number somehwere on it which you should keep a record of because then if the phone is stolen, the service provider can put a block on its use.

i dont think u can get outa it, you have to report a phone stolen within the 24 horus of you loosing it. Have you told the police...? depending on where you got it from all sim cards should have a personal ID number on it, this should allow you to trace where the phone is.
