I think she is not well. Mr sambro always listens to her on the way to work, and i seem to remember him saying that she was talking a bit strangely one morning, rambling a bit. This was weeks ago though. Since then she has not been on. i wonder if its worth contacting the BBC to enquire after her health? I do like her and hope if she is not well that it is not serious. Will keep you posted if i can find out anything.
There was much press speculation about SK's 'drink problem' because not only did she slur quite badly on occasions, she did make some inappropriate remarks to guests, and listeners, of the sort you might make if you were a little tired and emotional.
The BBC remain tight-lipped - SK does have very good listening figures, so they can;t shunt her off just yet ... unless they know different ...
No-one I work with likes her and I think she's lovely. They all grumble about the way she chats about the cats and things, but I think it's like the daft conversations that you have with a friend.
I am so glad she is ok. i would feel tired and emotional if I had to be up as early she was. I do hope she comes back on Radio 2. Being a cat lover myself, I liked her stories about her cats.
