The simple answer is "No". We were recently forced to replace our Thorn Housewarmer with a brand new boiler and fire because we couldn't get spares for the fire front. Having said that, I'm glad we did. Our gas bills seem to have dropped by about 40% from the same period last year and we have a beautiful living flame unit (Baxi inset 3) in it's place. All in all we paid a plumber around 2000 to do the work but this included converting to a fully pumped system, replacement of our hot water header tank and cylinder and a fancy 7 day programmer. I would recommend this route to anyone in this situation, we can now heat a full tank of water in about 20 minutes and without the upstairs radiators getting hot and the heating is so much more efficient!!
By the way the 2000 included the cost of the boiler and fire!!
