Hi suzy
Run it under cold water for a while. That should ease the pain a little. If the pain persists, keep your finger in a jug of cold water.
That ought to help a little.
I get bad burns sometimes at work suzy, depending on how bad it is it will prolly hurt for a couple of days specially when you put it in water. If it blisters whatever you do dont pop the blister and rag the skin off cos it'll take ages to heal if you do. Once it scabs it'll take owt from a few days to a couple of weeks to go away. If its really bad you ought to go to the hospital to get it checked out and if it looks like its getting infected go get it sorted out too. Hope its better soon :)

Thanks....am very clumsy and having a ****** day! I hope iter in the morning as am off for a short break. Thanks to all of youx
Try wrapping cling film around it,it is the air touching the damaged skin that causes it to hurt, don't leave it on too long though as the moistness will encourage infection, just do it when it becomes unbearable.
Leave a bowl of iced water and every time it starts to hurt dunk your finger in it for a few minutes. It will be OK in the morning.
They do sting like crazy don't they suzyangel , the others have covered what you can do , I just wanted to say that it should feel heaps better tomorrow . :-)

Poor thing!!!...I have burnt myself about 1/2 dozen times at work this past week. All advice given is good...you could also put Savlon cream on-it really seems to help the healing process.
I burnt my finger with some hot tea at work, had to sit at the till with a cup of cold water on a shelf hidden from the customers so could just rest my finger in it!
