Today I found what looks like a fantastic place for taking my adorable yet mad Samoyed for training :)
My last training attempt didnt go to plan as i paid 25 for an hour, next night went out to show my partner what me & my dog had learnt, only to end up in hospital after falling down a hole :(

Have found www.barkingmaddts.com
And it is 5 minutes from where i live! Went to watch today, well actually went to a boot sale and saw this in the field next to it, watched it, and spoke to Richard (the main trainer) and tomorrow we are off to our first introductary (sp) session! Really looking forward to it, although abit wary about my dog going so nuts when he sees other dogs!

My question is, what do you people think of this kind of training? I was happy to read that the man i was talking to today was actually the judge on Dog Borstal, gave me abit more cinfidence in the hole thing!
Im also worried about getting dragged round the place by my over enthusiastic dog! But he has said if i am struggling at any point, one of the other trainers will come along and help me handle Ashke!
Eeeee excited!!!

Hi wiggal...dont worry just go with the flow. They are used to dogs like Ashke and know how to deal with over excited Chappies. It will do him good and give you more confidence Im sure.Good luck hope its the right place for you both , excuse the pun.Im sure you will enjoy it. g
Hi wiggal , I do remember when you fell whilst attempting to show off your dog handling and ended up down the hole!
This class you intend to go to sounds very good , it will be beneficial to you and your dog as well as being good fun .
Enjoy :-) x
25 an hour! We charge 50p per dog and 50p per person, which includes tea and biscuits.

We show people how to handle their dogs, and although we assist them if they need help, they are given every opportunity to train their dogs themselves, and advice on any particular problems.

lankeela, that was what i paid for the lesson before.
Now its 12 a session and i know im going to be grateful to have some one there ready to give me a hand as around other dogs, Ashke is more then a handful and i struggle alot!

What im also interested in, is the first women a spoke to, said she had gone there 2.5 years before with her dog, and today was on a training session they do to train people like her to become training instrctors themselves, which i would be very much up for doing as I left school to study animal care as I plan to be a guide dog trainer.
So fingers crossed, all goes well!
Like lankeela says you would be better off going to a local dog training club. Barking mad are a franchise operation.
