MM Links Solutions October 2007 [Week 1]

This first week of the reign of King Grenmus the Great went very smoothly indeed ~ perhaps needing only minor tweaking to the timing mechanism. I can now reveal the chosen Link Words of Grenmus were as follows:

TENDER Foot
Ball PARK
Cup FINAL
SAFETY Match

Apart from guessing the "Football" Theme, there were no further clues on offer! Nevertheless, there were plenty of points available for the early birds.

Well, the scoring was brisk for the Shrubbery Squad and three of the Link Words went in fairly quick time. First blood went to jan1956 with CUP FINAL after only two minutes play. Applying the two-minute rule, bonus points were also picked up by paulineward & freebi 2 for the very same link.

At this same time, bridgenut hit home with SAFETY MATCH followed closely behind by FoxLee with the same link and and brand new link with BALL PARK to deliver a double whammy. The �foxy lady� picks up FOUR POINTS to make her �Hot Shot of the Week�.

At 09.06 slaney followed through with another BALL PARK to qualify for bonus points, but at 09.07 JIMjools made TWO good predictions but just outside the time interval for bonuses! Hard Lines Jim!

The last word to fall was TENDER FOOT and was spotted by miss meg as Entrant # 25 at 09.30. She wished also to lodge the prediction BALL C0CK but was censored by AB. Her �spheroid� was too close to her �member�! Changing to BALL PARK brought her one unexpected point. Tis an ill wind �!

Only just logged on to see the results and I am gobsmacked! There was such a wide choice of answers that I wasn't expecting to get any right. It can't last for the rest of the month!! Thanks for all the congrats. and well done to King Grenmus on his first week's reign.

Only just remembered to look - had this funny feeling I�d get nowhere this week - nice to be right about something, even if it is only predicting nil points for me.
