broadband speed thief???
1 Answers
This may sound REALLY dumb, but, there are 3 of us who share 1meg broadband (unfortunately we live too far from the telephone exchange to get any more than that). They are me, my mum and my computer whizz brother. My question is....Is it possible for him to secretly share out the d/load speed to give him more than us. It just seems that for mum or me to download it anything takes ages and i am sure that if it was this slow for him also, then there is no way he could cope as he d/loads loads of films and being VERY impatient, he would of complained by now or found a way to improve this (entirely for his own benefit). He is only here half the week and it is slow regardless if hes here or not. So....am i dumb or just really paranoid (lol).

At times there are 4 laptops being used at once here and all are good speeds...all wireless from one Router...but as soon as i start a download...film etc then dependant on what speed i set it at ie: max will virtually kill any web activity on the others.
If his PC is off while he's away and your speeds are still slow then you may not be getting your full quota from your ISP.
Run a speed test from here...stop any internet activity while you run it...downloads etc...what are your up/download speeds.
