Magnifying lamp

Is there such a thing a lamp, probably angle-poise, with an attached magnifying glass for elderly people to read instead of a hand held magnifying glass. Where would sell them. Thanks in advance.

Absolutely! There are two styles. (Maybe even three).

One is a circular florescent light with a magnifying lense in the centre. They are often used by jewellery makers. they are generally on telescoping arms that can be adjusted over the worker's table.

The second is an interesting contraption, presumably made for people who are keen on needlepoint and petitepoint work.

A lanyard hangs around your neck and again, a circular fluorescent light, with a magnifying lens rests on stilts that rest on your chest.

The third is relatively simple. Again, the same electronics attached to a gooseneck, which is inserted in a standpole.

The final one...which really isn't what you're seeking, is similar to a pair of glasses, with illumination lenses at your eyepoint...you end up looking like one of the petshop boys!

If you go to e bay and look at item number 300157037642 you will find the type of magnifying lamp that you enquired about. The one I bought also had a heavy base to it so that it could also be used free standing
