What about the prisoners released early to ease overcrowding. They are getting compensation for loss of prison wages. You could not make it up. Merry England.
Perhaps they are the same ones who claimed compensation for having their human rights evaded when they couldn't inject heroin and crack cocaine in prison. I think they got 3000 each didn'tthey?
Hi shadman, yes I remember that.
I also read that due to backlog in parole hearings millions of pounds are to be paid in compensation to those affected.
I have felt for a long time that the justice system favours the criminal rather than the victim, I think they should look to places like Singapore etc the next time they want to review the justice system. Our prisoners are treated like VIP's !!!!!
And I always thought it was only here in America that ridiculous things like that went on. Between this and the posts about housing/immigration/ghettos I feel like you guys read my mind. Do your prisoners get top notch medical care too? Unreal!!!
They don't all get vip treatment. unless they r on remand which is innocent till proven guilty. those convicted of crimes get 1 visit a week and 1 letter a week. Anything else they get they pay for with money from prison jobs which pay about 6.00 a week for a few days work and money sent in from family. yes they can purchase stuff but they pay for it not the government.. My hubby is in jail and doesn't take drugs all he wants is to do his sentance keep his head down and get home. He has never complained about his human rights being violated as he knows hes in there being punished. Saying that he has doesn't drink or take drugs and him and most on his wing are regularly ****** tested.
