Does America have Cathederals?

I wish to find the identity of this apparent cathederal. It may just be a large church, but there is something distinctly "cathederalistic" about it.

The band and the song title would indicate USA, but I am unsure.

But the song is superb and the edifice appears throughout.

America has beautiful cathedrals. Two of the finest are St John the Divine (world's largest, I believe) and St Patricks - both in New York. Neither of which are in the video, although both have the 'rose' motif on the brickwork.

I'm almost certain that it is an Anglican ( vicar's collar,balcony and empty cross), not a Catholic church, so that should narrow it down a bit - and it looks as though it may be disused...perhaps. I'm almost certain (99%) that it's National Cathedral in Washington DC. It's an amazing building - you could lie the Washington Monument on its side in that building! If you've ever watched the TV series "The West Wing" there are a couple of episodes which use it as a location for funerals.

I think it may be the nationalone in Washington DC. Perhaps the long white fence leading up to it (unless the video is disjoined) may bethe key.

Lovely building. I was kind of hoping it was in the UK, but I am visiting America in December, so this may now be on my schedule.

I would definitely recommend a visit. Take a scarf though - Washington in December is a little on the frosty side!
