The website linked above is very good. I live in NJ and learned about the Jersey Devil in 4th grade. It is enough to scare the **** out of the local kids. I know people who swear to have seen it. I think they were mostly visions induced after an extended visit with Johnny Walker or Jack Daniels. The terrain in southern NJ is very flat and full of pine trees - very dark at night. When the moonlight comes through the trees, anything can be mistaken for the Jersey Devil.
