the wife bought a tin of roses for christmas because they were on offer and some how the lid fell off and to stop them going off I had to start eating them, which leads me on to my question.
Love the idea of the lid falling off lol. They are usually sellotaped aren't they? Anyway love the green triangle (not sure if this is Roses or Quality Street tho).
God, it annoys me that this is what the shops are doing now! The co-op does the same- two for one, half price on all their xmas food! They KNOW I am too greedy to save it! So we end up buying it now (October!) and again in a few weeks for xmas! No wonder we are a nation of fatties!! Hmph.
Rant over, strawberry creme please.
I hate it when the lid falls off like that! I recall years ago, my best friend opening the selotape around her parents tin under the tree and pinching a few at a time. She resealed it each time
They opened it at xmas to find only about 20 chocs left lol
We didn't get Roses years ago, but we did get Christmas Cakes which my mother made and decorated well before the event. We were warned not to touch them or Santa wouldn't come!
She checked them regularly but on one occasion my brother ate the cake from underneath without her noticing.
However I am at a loss about Dave, Scarlett and Zipadeedohdah's answers re the strawberry and orange creams. In our house those are always the ones left rattling around in the tin for weeks and weeks after Christmas.
Come the end of January they usually end up in the bin, or when my hubby's not looking....in the dog!
