What is the name of the famous stone that was the bone of contention between England and Scotland from 1297?

The Stone of Destiny. The stone was stolen by Edward 1 who took it to England. It was 'recovered' from Westminster Abbey in 1950 by 4 Glasgow university students. It had resided for there for 654 years. They took it back to Scotland, but the authorities soon discovered it on the altar of Arbroath Abbey, and it was taken back. In 1996 the Stone of Destiny was cerimonially returned to Scotland at Edinburgh castle.

well, Rudiok how can u say that u did it quicker while not knowing how long it took to me? In most questions u can notice that i got the answers on the same day and while waiting for them i was not sitting at the comupter but working. I think that it is really a great website. Good luck :o)
