there is one where a small troop of germans arrive in a lincolnshire village, i think it was lincolnshire, they get runmbled when one of them saves a child from drowning in a water wheel i think it was michael caine in it, or van der valk, not sure.
There is a book by Robert Harris ,Fatherland ,which was made into a TV movie . An alternate history type book.Based on the premise of a world in which Nazi Germany was triumphant in World War II.
It starts off ,if I remember rightly ,with the Germans parading down Whitehall after victory in 1945 and then cuts to the 1960's where the Germans are still mooching around in Russia .Involves a journalist ..lots of spies and holocaust revelations that the Nazis want covered up in case it affects their relations with America Total rubbish but not a bad read !
The film was awful !
Len Deighton wrote a book called SS-GB which is about the Germans occupying Britain ... I havent read it though
Ive read the len deighton book mentioned by weggiewabbit, wasnt too bad a read,
and i think ive read the book mentioned by shaneystar2
Dot's book is "The Eagle Has Landed".

There was also a film made early in the war, as much as a propaganda exercise and a warning against the possibility of invasion as a drama - "Went The Day Well?"
Went the Day Well is an amazingly good movie, well worth a watch.
SS-GB is an excellent book, I read it many years ago and found it hard to put down,
I agree with Julie, considering that Went The Day Well was made as a propaganda exercise it is a remarkably good film
I think 'It happened here' is a better film, especially when you realise it was made as an amateur production.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055024/
Yes another film was
'It happened here.'

and was quite good - I have seen the film page but this is what I remember.....

Amateur production around 1966 - and released 1967. So after a few thousand feet ,t hey went back and refilmed it in a cinema format

Somewhat disappointingly in black and white

The heroine is a little nursey (actually I think a district nurse as was)

and goes through variousadventrues and ends up joining 'Instant Action' - (sounds like a laxative says a friend) which is a british SS and stumbles across friends who are running a clandestine hospital. Bad news -she doesnt turn them in, and......

so she is implicated but not arrested and is therefore sent off in disgrace - to a hospital which turns out to be euthanasing cripples and jewish chidlren i think

so then of coruse she joins the good guys

and the final scenes are of the Good guys
and so we have a few mintues abotu what they are up to....rousing broadcasts of Victory radio, messages from King George

and the Good guys find some of the British SS , and of course machine gun them in a field. Final scene I think

Ho hum,a sort of that's war ....film

i saw it in 1967 - it clearly made an impression on me

SSGB, was one cant remember who wrote it - LUDLUM?

HARRIS wrote one in called FATHERLAND but I cant remember if that involved invasion of Britain.

Also the Alchamist's Apprentice involves it.
