Rudolph Hess
9 Answers
My grandma (92), sharp as a pin and very good with names and dates, recently said that Hess crash-landed at the end of her street. She lives in a tiny village on the north-east coast. We searched the web and asked at the Imperial war museum, but cannot find evidence to support or contradict this story. She actually watched it happen, and I wonder whether urban myth is to blame, or whether it actually was him. I do not doubt that a german landed there, but as to whether it was him... any ideas? Thanks

Another conspiracy theory I've seen is that the man imprisoned in Spandau Jail was not in fact Hess. I dont really know the details but according to the theory Hess was actually killed when his plane crashed, and for propaganda reasons (Hitlers Deputy defects to the Allies) people were told he was still alive. Who the man was who was actually imprisoned the theorists dont say but supposedly when his body was examined after Hess' death , several distinguishing marks Hess was known to have including bullet scars from the first world war were missing. Don't really believe it myself but it makes you wander how these things get started.
Seems more believable then the version I'd heard jack,
but what happened when the other allies took there turns providing guards surely somebody would have noticed a difference and the Russians must have had one hell of a hold on the double to prevent him just confessing. I like to listen too and discuss these conspiracy theories but I'm afraid I find most of them difficult to believe

What ever you believe I found that conspiracy theories are usually worth a bit of research, its amazing how many different interpetations can made of the same sets of facts. I dont know why people can't except that for instance "Celebrities" can die in the same way as a "Ordinary" person, they have to have been "Murdered " for some known or unknow reason. having said that I must admit some cases are decidedly dodgy, you just have to do the research and make your own mind up
