Chimney: I have the greatest concern for you. I work with a number of people who are suffering from various addictions.
Besides the physical addictions, there are also emotional addictions. Those addictions are often referred to as tapes. We constantly play the same tapes over and over, repeating the same mistakes, or actions.
The greatest step for you is removing yourself from anyone who is or has in the past been part of your addiction. For many this can be frightening as it can mean, in some instances, that youre all alone. And it becomes compounded for those who visit drop-in drug counselling centres, as its not unusual to find dealers directly outside the door.
Whatever it takes, whatever you need to do, you must invest in friendships that are far removed from those previous relationships.
I will share with you a recent experience Ive had with a young lady who is addicted to heroin. Perhaps it might help inspire you.

I shall keep you in my thoughts.
