when I connect my laptop to mains the green light with the battary sign blinks. I left it more than 24 hrs. Still no sign of charging or starting the computer. What could be the problem?

Try switching it on! The flashing light just means its charging.

Get your battery checked, it sounds as though it's faulty, but there not cheap!!

You may have dirty contacts on the battery. Try taking it out and cleaning them with a pencil rubber.
