Ok, I don't exactly know where to put this as it's a bit complicated.

My uncle is looking for an army / army memoirs, possibly World War 1 exercise book belonging to James Gallimore.

It was last seen in Shrewsbury museum, but they are still searching for it in their collection but have told him that they have sold some items to other museums but they don't know if it was in there or what museum they have sold to.

The exercise book has a beige cover and there is Swan / Eagle with some calligraphy writing on the front. Inside there is the same style writing, with alot of the drawings and calligraphy situated on the top left corners of the pages.

Has anyone seen something like this in a museum or perhaps know someone who works in a museum who might have it?

Any information is helpful as my uncle is tracing back his family tree.

I think a good idea would be to contact or join the Shropshire Family History Society,
http://www.sfhs.org.uk/
as very often sources like the exercise book are recorded by them, or even transcribed for their archive. What you will certainly find, are members who may have been familiar with the book rhough visiting the museum.
If there is a Local History Society for Shrewsbury you could also write to them, they will be contacable through the Library I would imagine.
