im not sure if this is under the right heading but, i recieved a letter from the dept of work and pentions saying they were coming to visit me to discuss my claim to benefit, it was from a compliance officer has anybody else had this and can you tell me what it is about
It sounds like someone has possible shopped you for possible benefit fraud? Or maybe they are just checking that you are still entitled to what ever it is you are claiming.
As long as you aren't claiming anything you shouldn't, there should be nothing to worry about.
The DWP always come out to visit when you make a new claim and if the claim continues for a long time then they visit periodically to make sure you are getting the correct benefit for your situation. Make sure you have any relevant documents ready for them so you don't have to go scrambling around when they are there. My sister has these visits as she is on benefits and they are nothing to worry about as long as you are not committing fraud.
