Anybody think in last night's episode the fire brigade and ambulance were a long time coming. I know they procrastinated so they could get a lot of filming in but it sure was long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And on a recent fire lecture I'm sure we were told that a fire extinguisher of that size expells all its contents in 90 secs, yet this done nearly every room in the house. Unless I've got my fire extinguishers mixed up already! tut tut

...I know it's only fictional, but when you live in the country , you do have to wait quite a while for the emergency services to get to you, our nearest fire station is manned by part timers, so you also have to wait for them to leg it from their regular job to the fire station and then drive up to a 20 mile radius to get to the fire....

as ermintrude says it can take a while for them to get there. A retained crew (ie those who work other full time jobs and are called by allerter) usually get a crew within 6 minutes of the call coming in.

Then they can only get to the fire asap.

TV shows have probably been poor in the past when they have depicted such an event and the fire crew has almost been sat at end of road :)

I thought the scenes were really badly acted! and the following ones at the police station!
People just stood around outside the house just watching, quite unconcerned at the supposed drama inside. And how ham was that when Perdy got Matt to back up the lorry, conveniently filled with hay/straw!!
Come on Emmerdale show us what you can really do!

well in real-time i thought the fire brigade got there very quick, (emmerdale is in the countryside you know) and f / brigade units are in towns and cites also the extinguisher was not being emptied at one go the guy did short blasts which did not add up to 90 sec
the acting well, a bit wooden but still entertaing for a soap, jack and daz being by far the best of the acting bunch

Also, Billy was completely drunk in this episode, he could barely open the car door and was stumbling all over the place, then shortly afterwards he was able to carry the ladder, put it aganist the wall, and tackle the flames!! I wish I could sober up that quick lol
