The engine judders at 70 in 5th, 40 in 4th and lower speeds in 3rd. It is not the wheels or tyres, electrical systems or mountings etc.

Also at high revs the engine blanks a bit and loses some power. Is this the injectors which need changing? Anybody have experience of this or know a website which answers Audi problems??

Thanks

It could be a driveshaft problem, the inner joint by the sound of it, does the engine judder when reved up out of gear and stationary?.

A dodgy way to check but a good indication of a buckle anywhere on the drivetrain is to jack the front up one side at a time, put an axle stand under it make sure it is firmly seated on it, then have and assistant sit in the car covering the brake, hand brake must be on FIRMLY, then "drive2 the car gradually up through all the gears, or at least until you feel the judder, it could be a buckled disc, a damaged or worn hub, driveshaft, or even a faulty gearbox. the judder should be evident on the "damaged side, then it's just a matter of tracing it to the exact cause and replacing the offending part(s).

If at high revs the engine breaks into a rythmic surging, that's just the rev limiter kicking in, so you don't overrev and blow it. keep it below the red line, and you will be ok, the limiter tends to kick in a lot earlier if the car is not actually drivnig but sitting still out of gear, while u rev it up. but if its not a rythmic surging it could be dirty injectors, use an injector cleaner before you go ripping them out, you can get it at your local accessories shop, put it in the tank with a fill up .

could well be injectors but more likely (& hopefully) just the fuel filter which is very cheap.
hi, i had same problem... where the gas recirculation goes onto top of intake that will be full of carbon... clean out then will be sound....
