I'm interested in reading Marvels Civil War series but am not too sure where to start, how many comics come in the series, or if it also comes in one big bumper book? Does anyone know? Can anyone help?

The whole thing ran (may still be running - I'm way behind on my comics!) across pretty much the entire Marvel output for quite a few months - that's an awful lot of comics! Most of the issues have been collected in books, but these are by line, e.g. the Fantastic Four get a book, Spiderman another and so on (with some lines getting more than one book) plus there are other books collecting various related material. I reckon that at present there are over 20 books at 6-10; I hope you have deep pockets.

Anyway, I guess the best place to start (and possibly the most essential collection) would probably be "Civil War" by Mark Millar.

Some good info on Wiki, but beware reading the plot points if you want to read the books: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_(comic_ book)
