stevie wonder can see?!?

I heard a rumour that Stevie Wonder was one of the first people to try this new amazing eye treatment which cures blindness. Apparently it was successful and he can now see. Is this true, can Stevie see?

This was blared all over a certain Sunday newspaper a few years ago, but the reality is that Stevie Wonder has accepted that the blindness that afflicted him as a child has made him the person, and musician, that he is, and he has decided not to try the pioneering surgery - altrhough said paper did not seem to feel it necessary to correct its previous headline.
