My 16 year old daughter is in full time education doing A level courses at college. She has a saturday job doing 4 hours a week. Her boss wants her to register as self employed but would this affect my child benefit? She is earning well under the threshold for tax so this is not an issue.

If she is in full time education, then her Saturday job should not affect your child benefit in anyway whether she is self employed or employed. Child benefit is payable up to 19 years if the child is in full time education taking A levels.

More to the point is why her boss wants her registered as self employed. I dont think she would fit the criteria for self employment??
if she was able to register for self employment aged 16 years ??? , then she will be legally bound to pay tax if applicable , sounds like her boss doesnt want to be implicated for NI PAYE "employee contributions etc " ...... surprise surprise ......
