I think that the pre-match proceedings should be respected, each country allowed to have its own anthem played, without the other supporters spoiling it.
We are in competion on the pitch, wanting our team to win, but we should not forget to be respectful to others.
Sorry bobtheduck. Yes I do agree with you, noone should cheer or boo during a minutes silence or a national anthem. I also agree with you that England football 'fans' like that are a complete disgrace and give genuine fans a bad name.
Sorry if I diverted from the point. That is why I opened a new thread.
I'm sure the overwhelming majority of football fans are decent people individually, but when they're put together they seem to morph into tribes of very nasty, rude and violent cavemen. I think being disrespectful generally, be it towards another team, a murder victim or anything/one else, is disgusting but, sadly, hardly suprising at a football match. However, being Welsh myself, I have to say that, in a weird way, I was almost pleased that some England fans felt that had to try to upset our team - they must've been worried that we were in with a chance to beat them! (I'm very patriotic but I knew we didn't have a hope in hell!!)
