when the cup was being carried to the pitch why was that small child, who should have been in bed, made to carry the cup with the older one when he clearly didn't want to? and who was the man with them, the grandad?
really it was pitiful to see the little chap in tears being dragged along.

no idea why the little 'uns were there, seems most sports involve children when walking out onto the pitch these days...something to do with "the future" I guess.

The "old gent" was the great Jean Pierre Rives, French forward from the 70's.
more to the point, why did Johnny Wilkinson shake hands with Gordon Brown and then walk straight past Thabo Mbeki like he wasn't there.

I know it was an emotional time for the defeated England team but to ignore the President of the country of the victors is the height of ignorance and bad manners.
A good smacking wouldn't have come amiss.
He was given the honour of carrying the cup, then started playing up, I hope all his toys, are taken away from him for a week. Serves him right.

it was to prove that they do have children in the citys and they are not ALL left on cross chanel ferrys until they are 16.

Johnny wasn't the only one ! I didn't quite see who it was but before Johnny there was another English player who did exactly the same.
Either they were just rude or perhaps ignorant as they didn't even know who he was ???????
