I have an original ipod that has a load of tunes on that I have no copies. I also have a 30 gog Ipod video but they're not compatable. Is there any way of saving the tunes from the old ipod onto my computer and then transfering them over to the new one? Is there a copy of itunes i will need to download?

If they work on the original ipod they'll work on the video ipodm too.

Easiest way is to switch on hard disk mode on your ipod via itunes, then navigate to the ipod music folder on your ipod via my computer. highlight all the folders, right click and select copy. Paste them onto your computer...say in my music, then with itunes, add all the folders to itunes. Then they will be there to be added to whichever ipod you choose. Although they'll also still be on your original ipod.

Download (and see instructions in the 'docs' section of their website) Yamipod, which will let you get songs from your old iPod to iTunes.

Download iTunes for doing the syncing of both iPods.
