I have been on a mission for about 7 yr to open a full current account with many different banks. Had a key account with rbs for 6 years but recently after many faileds attempts i was successful in opening a full interest paying curent account, which i am delighted about! However . . . . i have still only got basic card (now solo). Bank H.Q said to ask for highline card in about 3 mth? does anyone know how they decide when to give this card and whether i will indeed get one at all eventually?!!!

They usually look at how your account has been run in those 3 months, whether you get wages paid in, go overdrawn etc.

If you account is run properly and you have regular payments into it, they should give you a card.

is that for def? over 2000 a month will be paid into it and my d d's come from key account. Will they take how that is run into account also?
Well I worked for a bank for 20 years and thats what we used to do - it wasn't RBS though, maybe they work differently so I can't say for definate.

oh it gets better!!! recieved cheque book today!!!! explain that!
Easy - if you only have a solo card then you don't have a cheque guarantee and therefore the Bank can bounce any cheques that you don't have the funds to cover!
