Animal quotes

"Dogs have masters, cats have slaves" and "Cats live with you on their terms" seemed to ring particularly true! They had both of those quotes on wee hanging plaques in a local charity shop, and I thought they were accurate and cute!

That is one very much gone by in our house!
I live completely on my cats terms, im door opener, i have to stop whatever im doing when 1 wants a cuddle, i am of course expected to buy them prawns whenever i go to the shops, (we even have little bags of prawns frozen in the freezer for them!) I have to leave space for them on the bed on the electric blanket! All Ashke wants is a cuddle and his dinner! lol!

I was going to say about the Churchill quote, love it! And it's so true about us owners being cats slaves! and wiggal- know what you mean about leaving a space, although don't have our cat on my bed too much, would never move him if he was asleep even if he was keeping me awake whereas the boyfriend gets a sharp poke in the ribs as soon as he starts even faintly snoring!
We are slaves to our 3 cats. Its ridiculous. When we were looking for a new house, they were the prime consideration. It had to be safe for them. It had to be in a cul-de-sac in case they got out of the garden. It had to have a large enough garden for them. The first job we had done when we moved in was spend 2000 installing high fences to keep them in and thus safe. One of them sleeps with us. he insists on wrapping himself round my head . Its bad enough in the winter, but in summer its unbearable. We could go on a cruise every year with what we spend on insurance, vaccinations, etc. We know we are crazy, but we cant help it. They have got us over a barrel.!!!!
My brother calls me a crazy cat lady.
When I had my last cat he was really timid. I took him to the vet for blood tests. They tried to do it without sedating him but he bit the vet.
The vet told me this when I went to collect him. "Did that nasty man scare mummy's little angel?" I asked George, I was so proud of him standing up for himself. The vet looked at me as if I was nuts.
There is another quote - the Egyptians worshipped cats as Gods. Cats have never forgotten this.
Must go - my Gods are running up and down the stairs spitting at each other.

I love these!
Thank you everyone, you've made me smile on a day where I need it. I have had to travel to uni, and it's dull out, and I am sat snivelling at a computer because I made the mistake of looking at the Oldies Club website (re-homing for older dogs). Now I feel all sad and desperate and frustrated that I can't take them all home to cuddle and lay by the fire for their last years.
Wiggal-Jack is gluten intolerant, and we buy gluten-free sausages at quite an expense, and pair them up in the freezer so we can cook them as a treat! Are we all mad?!
Kleiber-damn right! I didn't buy them though; I don't have the wallspace/surface space! How are you? How's work? And the menagerie?
I am so tickled by your tales (or tails?!). Cats always seem to get their way...Although dogs don't do a bad job either! I woke 3 times in the night to get Jack off my feet! My partner works nights, and was home last night, so we just didn't have room for 3.

Sambro - you're just like me!! My cats always come first when considering a new home (2 of them have moved house with us twice now). The last place was in a cul-de-sac and our farm is on a (relatively) quiet country road, but I've got 5 acres for them to play on, so they're safe. Three of them sleep with me and when I have to go away on business, I miss them so much, I can't sleep!
Wolf, I take it, by your post, that Frankie's a lot better now?
Leelapops - the job's going fine, thanks. I've been ever so busy, though, that''s why I haven't been on here much lately. The animals are good, although I lost a chicken yesterday - she just keeled over & died. She was old, though, so no great loss - at least she had a good life!
I agree 100% with all your comments, everyone - it's good to know I'm not the only "crazy cat lady" on here!! K xx
