Yardleys Lavender - dog,goat or calf?

Yardley's used a lady & two children gathering lavender in their adverts and on some pieces there is an "animal" standing beside the lady. Anyone settle a difference of opinion in our house - I say it's a dog & "he who dares to disobey" says it's a goat. Looking on EBay at pieces showing the design I've even seen it described as a calf! Anyone knoe?
