Are you legally allowed to block up a letterbox in an unoccupied house as one that we are looking after we can only get to about once a month and because of the junk mail etc, we can hardly open the door ! We`ve put the address in the postal pref etc to try to stop junk mail but this doesnt stop free newspapers and leaflets.

I dont think one on the outside would be a good idea as its a terrace house with no front garden. I think all the mail would get nicked ( or maybe, not such a bad idea after all)
Perhaps I might get in touch with Royal Mail. I know the owners have had important mail redirected, its just all the hand delivered rubbish thats the problem.
Thanks anyway to everyone
