Soda Crystals

Do soda crystals really whiten clothes?
I put half a cup in with my white washing today but I havent really noticed much difference.
Should I put the crystals inside with the clothes or in the compartment mixed with the powder?
Is it suitable for coloured clothes as well?

To get stains out i usually put it directly in with the clothes. i haven't tried whitening with them though.

I've never heard of Soda being used to help whiten clothes.soda crystals soften the water therefore dirt is dislodged easier but 'whiten' I'm afraid not,
I was Laundress in a hospital for many years so know a bit about the subject.

Lol - I've only ever known soda crystals to unblock revolting sinks!

why dont you use ACE bleach on your white clothes - they come up brilliant. When you use it pour it on the powder as it empties away. dont worry about the word bleach it wont bleach them. however I dont use them on my dark coloured. Good luck
